Default Clutch kits for bf.

I was on the Dalton web site, checking out the clutch kits. They have them listed for Prairie 650/700, and the BF750i. Mine is an 06 650i. Do I order the one for the Prairie 650, or the BF750. Will I be able to use my high gear again after I install the kit? Im getting sick of using low, plus, should i get a kit for big tires, even though Im undecided wether or not to get 26, or 27 inch tires or stay with stock size. Any help will be appreciated!

The Brute Force kit is for the 750 motor, it comes with the orange/blue primary spring and I wouldn't get it unless you plan to do some modifications. The Prairie kits will work fine on a stock BF 650, I'd get the oversize tire kit with the blue primary spring.

I wouldn't spend money on an entire clutch kit for under 28" tires. Maybe do a search and find some info on a few springs. I am not up to date on them. Some were using a black secondary and a almond primary. You need to choose one for how you are going to ride. Plus they are only about $20 a spring.

Or you could buy a cdi and not need a clutch kit.

BRUTECENTRAL.COM Pink primary spring and an almond secondary are all you need Sorry abot plugging another site but all they deal with are brutes and that is the setup thats recomended the most over there for 26 and 27 tires

Does a CDI, also control the pulley movement? I really want to be able to use HIGH, with out worrying about belt failure. Low is sometimes too torque for the tight trails I ride, and when we get to a field or road, I have to stop to put it into HIGH, which is inconvienent somewhat.

I did not mean to say a cdi will replace a clutch kit for a mod.

It makes the engine rev faster and harder, possibly engaging the clutch quicker. I had my 27's before the dyna and it felt like it pulled on the belt a little on high range wheelies. Now with the dyna it pulls the front up easily and has more power.

Are you riding rocks or what? I use low only on tight trails that are bumpy and muddy.

I don't know alot about clutch springs on the i-brutes, but I have heard alot about the almond spring. A little rsearch on some forums you should find an answer.

A lot of guys on here have recomended to run in low on trails, up to about 25-27 mph, to save the belt. I know that it is inevitable, that the belt will eventually smoke, but Im trying to keep that from happening too soon. Im always pulling the cover to check belt deflection, guess im **** about the belt!!, Thanks

kawieriders forum will help you out alot, they are very knowledgable about these things. There are literally a MILLION options when it comes to clutches, I personally would not buy one of thos ehigh priced kits that come with weights--I prefer finding a spring that matched the feel i want, weights just add unneeded cost. Personally, I would do black secondary if you get around to it, and then pick a primary that you prefer the feel of. For trail i would lean towards low-no stall. I ride nasty trails with my EPI red in my V which is a high stall spring, and I am used to it...I dont notice it anymore. Only thing though, it is a PITA to put the black secondary in, it is difficult to pull the secondary pully... you'll need to fashion a custom tool. I installed the black primary in my dad's Prarie 650, he asked me to do it one day as a favor, i regret saying "sure, no problem".

The CDI for the utes defeats that timing retard on the low end that kawie put in from the factory, so the CDI will make much more difference to you than it would for me with my V, which doesnt have that retarded timing--go figure.
