P650 Low range engine braking

I have noticed lately whenever I put my 650 Prairie into low range the engine brake doesn't seem to work right. It makes a clunking noise like it doesn't fully engage. It works fine it high and since I rarely use low range it hasn't been an issue. It also makes the clunking noise when you let off the gas in low range. The first time I really noticed it was when I was going down a river bank with a couple hundred pound deer on the back and that was a scarey ride when I expected the engine brake to work and it didn't. Anyone else have this problem or know what I need to do to fix the problem?

You only notice it when you let off the gas in low range. It is almost like the EBC doesn't fully engage. Seems odd that it is fine when in high range. I rode a friends BF650 and it deosn't do the same thing as mine. It actually brakes instead of making a clunking noise like mine does when you let off the gas.

I adjusted the shift linkage and it did little to improve the problem. One thing I didn't mention is when I bought the quad I installed a primary P700 spring, black EPI secondary spring and installed a P700 belt. I have been running this setup for quite a while with out any issues. Maybe I don't have every thing adjusted quite right but I thought I would of noticed something when I installed all of that stuff almost 3 years ago.
