I would lay out a few more green backs for the 10 foot fence.....I almost posted that in my last reply.

You should be fine, it depends what state you live in but Here in NC the legal limit is 97-98 decimels
and i know the stock isnt over 92 so yeah you should be fine if you were only riding on your land, good luck

Go buy a few bags of lime and dump them on your property. Now wait for the right wind and start your mower up over the piles of lime and let that settle on your neighbors pool. I really hate it when someone doesn't talk to you about a problem first.

Wow... and all this started from a decible complaint.. now we're talking about killing dogs and filling pools with lime, hahaha. I'm glad nobody gives a damn about ATV's where i'm living at. i just go and ride across the street in the empty trail filled forest, and nobody says a thing.

Are there no places to ride away from the houses where you guys can find some kind of middle ground?

I'm still wondering if any of you ride at night.. Something like that would hold up in court, but as far as noise, you should be fine on stock pipes.

Here's my two cents:

Buy your neighbors 650 dollar chinese ATV's instead of paying the court, and my money says they'll see how much fun it is, drop the charges, and never give you a problem again..

I am on the other side of the coin. My neighbors have just bought a 4 wheeler, and ride the thing constantly! their yard is only about 20 feet from my house, and the sound is annoying as hell. We have to crank our T.V., forget about our kid getting a nap, and my husband works nights, and hasn't been able to sleep during the day. Is there anything I can do about these annoying people? I can not approach them, I already have about their barking dogs, and they threatened to kick my *** and ran me off their property. Fine people. So much for moving out in the country. They also ride on the dirt road and the government owned property in back of our homes. Is what they're doing illegal? Don't you have to go somewhere to ride those things? Thanks for any comments.

Welcome to the forums.

Just a reminder to all the forums members that this forums is not just for those who own an atv. In fact, reading this post shows that we do indeed have a responsibility to the general public to respect their opinions and rights as we are to have the same courtesy.

Have you talked to any other of your neighbors about this or any other issues you've had with the noises? Maybe it's not just you, and if they realize that, maybe they'll try to tone it down some.

Sadly, there are people who think that property ownership gives them the right to do whatever they want, regardless of what others think. If that is the case, sometime filing a complaint is what has to be done.

Default atv noise

I live in a neighborhood, with about 150 bi-level homes. Our town is a very small town located in Reading, Pa. - Very farm related town, which is a good thing I think. I own two atvs, and I'm always concerned about one of the neighbors calling- maybe it's anoying to them because they don't understand atving is loads of fun - to them sitting on their butt in front of TV is fun. It always seems when someone complains about these issues, that the local yocals win out and us fun lovers lose out and have to travel way away from were we live to go riding B LL S T. I PAID FOR MY REGISTRATION AND TITLE IN PA> I"M ENTITLED TO RIDE WITHIN REASON> I'LL FIGHT TO THE END. I also have a couple of neighbors with atvs and other power sport machines. Finding good cool places to ride is slim.
