'05 P360 "check belt" light
2005 P360 4x4 has 500 miles (very easy miles) with 97 hours on it. Last weekend after I washed it and dried it off I noticed the check belt light came on steady and will not turn off. I thought maybe I got water in the housing or something so I rode it around, but it didn't help. I've searched and read several posts telling people how to reset the light, but before I just reset it, I would like to make sure there is not some reason it is on as I depend on my unit to be safe and reliable. What would the dealer do if I took it to the dealer (assuming he were honest) and how do I do that myself? Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance.

you are fine. Its just the 100 hour check up service. Here is what you do. Pull the belt cover off and check things over. Check the belt deflaction and make sure the belt is not rotted or beat up any. For better tips on belt deflaction and such, go to nyrocatv.com under the tech tips section go the the prairie section and look for the belt topics (same as the praire 650, 700, and bf) and that will tell you how to check and secure.
For the belt light reset process, its simple. First, find the black and great connectors under the gear shifter. There will be another connector down there but it wont fit so its fine. Find the black and grey connector and take them apart and swith the colors ( black to grey, and etc). THen there should be a small 2 pin connector coming from the belt covor actuator. Take that apart. While you have this done. Turn the key on for 10 seconds and watch the light flash then turn it off. put everything back together the way it was and it should reset.

I think I have an even easier reset....
diconnect the actuator plug, then disconnect your battery for about 30 seconds. the actuator is that little black rectangular box that stand on top of the belt housing cover.
Trace the lines back from the black box up to where you see the connector plug, then just seperate it right there.
i did this and it reset, machine still running strong...
ONLY DO THIS IF...you are sure your belt is ok.
Check the belt or if you are really not sure, take it to somebody who knows....
