Did you buy NO or NC type? KFX450 requires a NC (normally closed) type so that when the lanyard is pulled off, it cuts out the ignition circuit. If you look behind the ignition key switch, there will be 2 wires, Brn and Wht, which carry 12VDC when in ON position. Install your kill switch wire to either one in a "series" so that 12VDC will be cut off when you pull the lanyard off. There are other few wires in the main harness you could tap into but the Brn or Wht wire on back of the key switch appears to be fairly easy to get to.

im not sure if its no or nc. its a pro design that has two wires on it. just to get it right, ur telling me to connect one kill switch wire to either the brown or white wire and then ground the other kill switch wire, correct?
thanks for the help i just want to make sure i just dont start cutting wires and really screw things up.

No. If you ground one of the kill switch wires, you will either blow a fuse or burn down the quad as soon as your turn on the ignition key (if it is a NC type which it should be). You will need to buy your friend a new quad. So, don't do that.
The kill switch wires go in a SERIES (in-line) to either the Brn or Wht wire so that it opens up the circuit when the lanyard is pulled off. Think of Kill Switch as a on and off switch that cuts off the power supply to the ignition system.
