Gas mileage depends on several factors, such as terrain you are riding, 2/4WD, weight/cargo, speed, how you ride, vehicle condition, etc., and 7 different people will give you 7 different figues. When you say Brute, which one are you referring to?
I tested MPG on 3 different machines got following:
650 - 16~18 mpg
700 - 15~17 mpg
750 - 13~15 mpg
Those were done in mixed 2/4WD on easy mountain trail with average speeds between 15~20 mph with no extra load. Based on my data, the BF750 can cruise about 75.6 miles in AVERAGE before running out fuel no matter what the fuel gauge says. But this is also assuming that fuel pick up tube sucks up every single drop of gas from the fuel tank - which can't happen. The best way is to use the 1/3 fuel rule as following:
1. Use first 1/3 of fuel to get to the destination.
2. Use 2nd 1/3 to return from the destination.
3. Keep the third 1/3 as for emergency or unexpected usage.
That's the technique I use when I go off-shore ocean fishing on my boat.
