2005 700 Prairie Battery Drain
#1
I have a 2005 Prairie 700 with 19 miles. I bought it mainly for snow removal so it is rarely used. Anyway, I went to pull it from the garage and it wouldn't start. I jumped it and it started. Battery charged with no problem. The next day battery was dead. I replaced the battery. It dies over night as well. I pulled the neg lead and checked for a drain with a 12v tester and get nothing. I have been checking wires for bare/worn spots but see none. Anyone have any idea? Could it be the winch, hand warmers, thumb warmer, etc. How can I figure this out with out having to haul it to the dealer?

I can think of 3 possibilities for your problem.
1). Accessory draining the battery - you would need a ammeter to measure amp draw which shuoud be less than 0.1 amp.
2). Battery sulfation - MF battery would develop tremendous amount of sulfation/resistance if it was deeply discharged and it never comes back to full capacity and it can't be recharged.
3). Charging system failure - measure what voltage you are getting when revving the engine at mid-throttle. It should be 13.5 VDC or higher.
