Default Need a little help...........

Now a little tuning- when I start the quad it idles at a high RPM; if ya choke it it's more normal, then after it warms up its fine. Any advice? Any pointers? Am I a little rich maybe..................
THanks

Sounds like an air leak, maybe a forgotten o ring, or clamp not tight, or intake tube has a hole or rip.

Could be an air leak like hondabuster said. Maybe it could be a plugged pilot jet??? Either way, it is definitely running a bit lean on the idle if giving it choke helps and waiting till its warm also helps.

Btw, hondabuster, those are a couple of nice observations you have in your sig there!

if its an air leak take a small torch with the gass on no fire and run it around the inlet flanges if you engin changes rpm you know you have a leak easyest check to do.you can use any combustable spray to do this test also!

Yeah- I've got a feeling the it's the idle mixture screw, I remember just B4 the valve went I could'nt get to idle for anything and everything was adjusted to extremes............

Thanks guys- it was all a matter of jugling the idle mixture screw and the idle speed screw; the one that holds the throttle open at you tighten it. Now it runs richer than a ****, surprised I haven't fouled a plug.......
