Help with venom winch mount - 08 Prairie 360

First of all...I'm new to the forum, and the info I've gained just from lurking over the past few weeks has helped out a ton. This is a great resource.
I just bought a Venom 3000lb winch to install on the front of my 360. The Prairie 360 mounting kit that came separate from the winch, (purchased as a package from Venom on ebay), illustrates mounting the winch via hangers directly in front of the oil cooler. This makes absolutely no sense to me. Why would you want to block that airflow? The mount that actually came packaged with the winch (same box) is much smaller but doesn't really line up with the stock metal plate. How/where did you mount yours? Any help is appreciated.

Your setup looks like I figured mine would look like. I wish I could scan the instructions and post the picture. The oil cooler is not in fact blocked as I previously stated. They have (in the picture) the winch mounted upside down, U bolted to the frame. It makes no use of the factory winch mounting plate. It still doesn't make much sense. Thanks for the quick response.
Update: Installed it upside down like the picture shows. Everything works like a champ. It took forever, but I'm happy with the results. Time for some new tires.

double-d
Winch will be ***** out money....
I have the smae set up and its been fine for over two years now...Use winch for plowing and getting out of mud holes.
Teh Venom winches are under-rated by people because they are so cehap. I have the 2k which has been plenty for us. Nice thing about the 25 is the gearing inside is metal, not plastic, as the lighter warns are.
I am not knocking warn, as I have their 2500 on my BF and think highly of that too...

Thanks, yeah I'm really happy with it so far. In my opinion it looks like a better setup than using the usual stock mounting plate. It looks great except for the shiny u-bolts. Those will soon be painted black to match the rest of the setup. I'm hoping to get out for a good ride next week and get a chance to use it a little.
