I have my motor stripped down to rebuild the top end. I have not split the case but I might have a problem. I am curious if when you rotate the shaft that the clutch is mounted on is it normal to have any kind of a ruff spot as it rotates or should the gears move completly free the entire time? I looked into the gear box through the oil holes but did not see any damage. Please help

 

it should rotate freely. it mite be a chipped tooth on one of the gears or a worpped clutch disk
