Default Carb Options

i have a 1995 Kawasaki Mojave - recently pulled the motor and purchased a 2001 engine. what is a good carburator that works easily and successfully on my machine - i see alot of people using the 400ex carb. the throttle adjustment screw on mine is stripped out and the "fix" i had devised causes it to stick open sometimes, which isnt fun.

Default Carb Options

A general rule is the bigger the carb the more topend power you get at the sacrifice of lowend to a degree (some flatslides flow excellent at low speeds and still have the room to flow well at fast speed too). Usually a smaller carb will give more lowend grunt with less high rpm capability. For a 250, anything from 26mm-32mm should work. To make full use of a big carb, you will have to port your head and possible get a higher lift cam.

Whatever you do, dont get a CV carb. They depend on engine vacuum to open the throttle and throttle response sux on those.

I dont own a mojave,,, just throwing some things out there for ya.
