I am considering lifting and putting bigger tires on my prairie 400 4x4 and i was wondering ig that was a big enough engine to handle much larger tires

It should be able to handle a 27" or 28" tire. I saw a guy with 27s on his 300 Prairie 4x4. I asked him weren't they too big and he said no. I observed him on the trail and he was slinging mud everywhere.

NAH! that 400 should handle bigger tires. i have a prairie 300, and i ran 27" vampires on it for a while. the ties fit just fin, plenty of clearence, but the tirres were just a little too heavy for the 300. however i think the 400 would do great with such heavier tires than stock dunlops. if your worried about wieght, maybe you should try mud bugs, mud runners or blackwaters. the 3 of them are some of the lightest ones out right now.i have recently ordered 26" mud bugs and some 12" itp billet aluminum rims for mine.
