Walking through K-Mart sat. looking for decoy's to shoot at with our paintball guns i saw a Magellan gps unit for 59.00 dollars. I decided that i wanted to know the top speed of my quads, so i bought it. These are the results;

1997 Yamaha Badger 33.5 mph
1999 Kawaski Bayou 220 44.6 mph
1999 Kawaski Lakota 58.6 mph
I ran these quads at 850 elevation(gps gave me these figures) it was about 60 degrees.I weigh about 180 pounds. The badger 80 has 1 inch taller than stock rear tires. The 220 is stock. The Lakota is pretty modded. With stock gearing it will not go any faster.It has enough power to pull a larger front sprocket. I am still trying to find a 10-1 piston for it with no succes. Does any else have some gps speed figures????

1999 Kawaski Lakota 58.6 mph

Nobody has any gps speeds? I was suprised at the top speed of the 220. I thought it would be lower since most of the mags. slam it. If it only had dual a arms upfront. Isn't 44.6 in the ballpark for recons,trailblazers,trailboses?

My Prairie 300 4x4 registers 45 mph of a possible 50 mph on the speedo and my wife is walking away from me on her 220. I weigh about 200 lb.s and she may weigh 100. That little 220 hauls pretty good for a little guy. I have a cobra exhaust on it but otherwise it is stock.
