Default What is causing my Mojave to shift hard?

My 1998 Mojave shifts really hard into and out of third gear and I noticed it particularly today. My oil was a bit low too so I think that could be part of the problem but it does it even when the engine has its full 2.1 liters of oil. I guess what I'm asking is what would cause it to shift hard like this? Is it the shift drum or the shifting forks? Thanks for the help.
