TrailBlazer
#1
My friend has a '00 TrailBlazer with a pipe, clutch kit, and it has been rejetted. I have a '00 Stock Lakota, when I ride his it feels like my still goes faster, but we havent raced yet so we dont know whos faster, who would win?

Race and give us the rusults. I think that i have read on the Polaris forum that they top out at about 45 mph. Your stock Lakota is good for about 51mph. I think it would be a good even race with the blazer leading out of the hole, figure you would catch him in the mid to top. Just my thoughts on this.

Hard to tell 'till you actually go at it. Please post the outcome. I have my money on you. Have you gone against any other quads? If so, which ones and who won. I'm just interested 'cause I haven't been able to ride against many other machines. The ones I have have been a 400ex, 400 scrambler 4wd, and a Trailboss. Of course I can't beat the 400's especially the ex. However, after my mods I was surprised at the diff. against the ex as was my friend with it. Haven't been against the scram. after the mods. The trailboss doesn't have much of a chance. But hey, we all (my friends and I) just ride for fun anyway not to get away from each other. No matter the outcome they are all kick***. Remember the 1st one your rode all those years ago??!

One of my friends has a 97 lakota and 2000 trailblazer, the polaris gets up to speed faster but he lakota will smoke it in the long run. hate riding the trailblazer on the road, seems like you are going super slow for some reason?? mabe its just me..

Have you ever checked the top speed of your lakota after you modded it? Mine will go 58.6 now,i don't think they have rev limiters on them.to go any faster i would have to get a larger front sprocket. The motor pretty wound out in 5 gear now.

No 14, I have never checked top speed. To be honest I have no idea how fast it will go. I do however know it gets up there much quicker now. As far as a rev limiter I have heard that they have them but I have never engaged mine. I do wind it out through the gears when hard riding and keep it pinned in 5th. I am wondering how much on the bottom you will lose by going up 1 gear in front. If you or anyone else has tried this please let us know how it felt. BTW 14, what kind of diff. did you notice by putting a new cam in? I think we have gone over this before, but my memory sucks. Thanks.

stebob- i lost some bottom end power after the cam was put in. It is a whole lot stonger in the mid to the top now. I can pop a good wheelie with it by just holding the shifer down and rev it a little, pop it up. I don't have to pull up on the bars or sit on the back of the seat. I think a 10-1 piston would satisfy my needs. I might have to mill the head to get the 10-1 ratio since nobody makes one. I read in the tech connection that they a planning a lakota hop up,i am trying to wait to see what they do. I put a smaller front sprocket on once, felt like the top spped was 40 mph. I would like the top speed to be about 63 so that i can cruise around 55 mph without abusing the engine as much. just my thoughts.
