Default 300 bayou oil leak help

i have a 2003 bayou 300 4x4, i know that the seal from the rear driveshaft to the motor is leakin alil bit, but this leak seem really bad, there is oil all over the back of the motor and all over the bottom of the carb! and dripping down the motor, i think when i put oil in it a few days ago i might have over filled it, but i dont think this is due to over filled and the driveshaft leak? has anyone had a problem with crankcase leak? thats almost what it seem like what it is
any ideas?
thanks
Jeremy

Default 300 bayou oil leak help

one more thing, i just went out and washed it, to get all the oil off and my site glass fogged up!! so i rode it around for a few min, then drained the oil, no water in the oil as i can see, but my site glass is still foggy, could this be due to the oil leak? im gonna let it set on flat and let it dry all the way and check it again
thanks
Jeremy

Default 300 bayou oil leak help

There is a crank case vent hose that comes out of the case above the left foot peg, routes up by your carb and also under the handlebars. This also goes back into your cylinder head where your cam is. I have never had that problem but based on where you said the oil is, it seems to fit the bill. Try pulling that hose above your peg and see if oil is coming out there excessively- the hose will pull straight out or you can pull it off of you cam cover and see if it has a lot of oil dripping from there. It may be because you overfilled it. The sight glass probably just has moisture in it (I am not sure if it is double pane like house windows- if it is, the moisture could be trapped in there for a while). I hope this helps.
