Default 1996 Kawasaki Bayou 300 4x2

i just purchased a 96 bayou 300cc 4x2... seems very sold... just the back brakes dont work... the pedal wont recoil back up and when you do push it down, nothign happens...... i dont think that is a major issue......probably needs new pads and cables...... the atv shifts into all gears just fine, including reverse.. and the differential lock works fine

there is a switch on the handle bars that prevents you from shifting it into reverse when riding.. that switch is broke... and i want to do a full maint. on it (brakes... oil change... tranny fluid change...oil filter... air filter and anything else the manual calls for)

i just want some info on it... i paid $900 it had a new top end last year, receipts to show work and new clutch and new paint job... tires are about 50%
i will post pics very soon.....

is anything special i need to know about this quad?
does anyone have a used manual they are willing to sell?
how good are these quads? any issues about them?
i did a quick browse on ebay and saw that parts are readily available...

any info on this machine would be greatly appreciated!!! thanks!!!!

Some random info- the Bayou 300 and the Lakota 300 have the same engine. This will help if you go to buy parts on ebay etc. As far as I know the only difference is that the Lakota Sport (lakotas make 2000 to 2003) have a hotter cam. Hope this info helps.
