Bent axle questions
I'm probably going to go look at a used KFX 400... 2006 model.
The lady says the axle is bent.
I don't know rather to think this is a chance to get 'a steal'...
Or if I should worry about additional items...
Or if I should just run away...
I have no idea at all how strong the stock axles are, what it would take to bend one, etc... so I am lost.
Anyone else bent an axle, or just replaced and axle for a better one, etc?
How much work and money are we talking here?
What else should I look at on the bike for damage due to the bent axle?
I'm thinking...
Frame for cracks
Swingarm for cracks
Swingarm bearings
Shock mounts
Etc...

Bent axle questions
i bent the axle on my raptor 700. and yes stock axles are somewhat weak. went out and bought a rpm domanator 2 axle. it is adjable from +1 to +4 inches. it also has a lifetime warrenty. it is the strongest axle on the market. i picked mine up for 300 bucks new. is was easy to install also. but if you needed a shop to do it it would cost about 100 bucks

Bent axle questions
Well, I went to look at it, and without looking hard the bike looked GREAT.
You could tell that it was used, but not a lot.
I think when it was used, it was used hard, and suffered an accident.
Looking at it, it was very hard to tell how it got the injury though.
I found it very hard to access what damage might have occured to other points on the machine... being that I was by myself in their driveway. Riding it, the wobble of the one rear wheel was very pronounced though.
In the end I was offered the bike for $2500...
I would have gladly paid that if nothing were wrong with it.
But sorry, that's too much money, and way too much money to gamble like that.
