Default Stock Exhaust vs. Aftermarket

I have been told that if I put an aftermarket exhaust (HMF, Muzzy, LRD, etc.) on my Brute 750 it will make it less likely to go dead when the exhaust is under water. Is there any truth to this? I know it would give me more power but I'm not really concerned about that. Thanks

Its a good theory anyway. but I don't really think that it will help with drowning out your ride. If anything I would think that it would make it more likely to happen because of the lack of pressure at the exit of the exhaust. After market exhaust free up out flow, right. So with less pressure at the tailpipe I would think it would be more likely to happen. Just my thought. I also have a 05 750, stock exhaust ,never had a water stall yet! But I've been riding with a 800 Outlander with the HMF pipe and its died a couple of times. Maybe other people have had different luck.

why did they say this would help?I would think most atvs drown out because of water in the intake system or water on the electrical components.I believe as long as an atv is running there would be no water going up any exhaust.
