kfx700 top-end
What are good mods for more top-end on a kfx 700? Got to race a couple of guys today and up to about 300 yards I had every race. I do not know a track with a straight away longer than about a 100 yards, but some guys know that it takes 500 yards to win so that is how long they want to race. appreciate any info.

Well for starters a pipe, Muzzy or dual HMFs plus the 12 hole airbox mod and dont forget to jet up...use the Kiehn jets they work the best. The thing that limits the top end on the big KFX is its shift-out; thats where your cvt goes to its highest range. The stock spring limits the bike on what it will do, usually around 300 ft. is where the big V begins to loose ground, right around 3rd or 4th gear of the other sport quads. An aftermarket clutch spring and weights will solve this. The Dalton orange/blue is a good drag racing spring..it has a little bit of stall to it. I use the EPI maroon spring and it has done wonders for my top end! I am just getting to understand the cvt, so others may have more info on this. Try checking out Kawiecentral.com....ther are alot of knowledgable people on there to help you out and they are super nice guys! There is also a sticky topic on there to introduce you to the 700V and I recommend that you read it because it has alot of good info on it!! Also V-Force John can machine your clutch and do wonders for your cvt as well!! Let me know what you do and I hope this helps you!!

Thanks for the kawiecentral site, seems to be a little better than this one for the 700v. I have the hmf duals, k&n , and have rejetted. I have ordered a rev box, looking into the clutch work and checking nos options. There are some bad machines on that kawie site and I am sure with some more insite I will be looking for people to race. Thanks again.
