Gear box oil type?

10w-40 and 0w-40 is a motor oil weights not good for lubricating gears.[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-shocked.gif[/img]

Differential gear oils are 75w-90 at least.

I would use what the mannual says to us 85w/140

If you can get water,mud and dirt in you differential housing you have a serious problem.

I totally agree on that one...my point is if you DO have a problem with a leaking seal or a bad breather hose, you'll never know it if you don't change your lube somewhat frequently.
