Default Mojave clutch problems

Hello, lately I have been having issues with the clutch lever, not the actual clutch in the tranny but the lever does not pull and release freely and smoothly like it used to. It also grabs alot earlier, it is stiff and does not spring back. What can I do?

I adjusted the free-play and it is better now, but still stiff. Like it does not smoothly pull and let go, it feels like there force against it, i think i need to lube the cable. How do i do that?

usually it means its time to replace cable...if you adjusted it and it is still sticking or binding it needs replaced...how old is it has it ever been replaced? also is it resting on anything hot while riding? check the cable for breaks and kinks... they are pretty cheap to replace...sometimes hard to find parts for mojaves now..i should know..its always hard to find for mine..but try these guys out, they dont have a list of parts on site but they can get anything and cheap...just email or call them.. cheapatvssite.com

goodluck

wanted to add one more thing..check to make sure the cable is a straight as can be in other words not a lot of twist and tight corners. which will cause friction and stiffness... hope this helps

Default Mojave clutch problems

Alright I finally got a chance to take a look because I had to rejet the carb (it sucks taking off all the plastics Im thinking about zip-tying them on for easy access) and the clutch cable has an L bend and I can hear the cable rubbing it is frayed for sure. I am going to pick up a new cable today. Are they difficult to install? Any tips? Also, I went to change the spark plug and my socket does not fit in there????? Is there a special tool I need to buy? Nothing fits in there why would they make it so damn difficult. Also I disconnected the brake line from the resovoir up on the front brake lever to untangle the cables and no theres no pressure in it? How do I fix that? Thank you for all of your help.

thats weird. can they not order it. have they stopd carrying parts for it or something. well maybe try ebay. if that dont work all i can think of is to go look at like auto zone or sears or something for a socket that will fit.
