KFX400 probs
hey guys,
I jetted my quad (first time ever doing so, so bare with me here) and I am having some problems afterwords. I really would like to know how to fix it myself just because I like solving my own probs (not to mention the money) so I appreciate any information or help.
When it runs, it pops while getting off of the throttle at any RPM for the most part. I've heard that they tend to pop sometimes with aftermarket exhausts, but my buddies (with the same mods, just different brands) sounds smooth as a stock.
I also have a problem with it not accepting throttle at times.
and the wierd thing now is...the Gas valve (On, Prime, and Reserve) only seems to work when in the Prime position.
talk about a mess!!!

oh it's def from the exhaust.
I kinda figured it was running rich. The wierd thing about it is, I can usually tell from the exhaust smell that it's rich or lean. (not that I go smellin my exhaust all the time haha)
I think the throttle response might be from just starting up. It seems to go away when warm, but it seems like it takes longer after the jet.

With a dual exhaust and k&n set up I did not need to re-jet. I did not have to rejet until I started modifying my intake.</end quote></div>
duals on a 400?
Your name would make me think you're reffering to the 700
