Kawasaki bayou 300
I just replaced the clutch plates in my bayou 300. I have the repair book and think that I have put everything back correctly. I started the 4 wheeler and it pulled perfectly. When I changed gears to go to reverse the transmission went into reverse without turning the ****. Normally you can push the gear shift down and it will not go into reverse, without turning the ****. Now it does....Any help...please. I have taken this apart 4 times and cant seem to find the problem. Could it something on the clutch side of the engine or????
Thanks

Two possibilities that come to mind.
> Is the reverse actuating cable boken?
> Is the the reverse actuating lever (or shaft) that attached at the end of the cable into the crankcase sticking, not going in and out smoothly? If so, try polishing the shaft surface with sandpaper and see what happens.

Thye cable is not broken, and when I work the **** it moves the linkage and returns back to its position correctly. I appears to be working like it did before. I bought the Hynes manual, but it really doesnt address this issue. It does appear there is a stop device under the reverse lever cover, could this be broken
