reread on how to adjust shifter, i had forgotten a thing, and added it back.
i prefer to use exxon oil, 10w30, and change it frequently.. no vodoo here, it is my opinion that fresh, proper level decent oil beats wrong level/badly used "perfect" oil.. but just my opinion.
there's no replacement for displacement, and the lakota is built to be trail and work, not race... its heavy for weight, in today's world, and, even though I am moding mine, the same dollars spent on a 350 will make that 350 that much better, to a point.
left brake handle is rear+parking brake, you can adjust it at the rear brake.
right is front brakes, and they hang like a snapping turtle
here's a great tips/mods on lakotas the rear brake thing is a MUST do!!!
i have basically done, or will do, all the mods in this thread, + adding displacemnt

i've dorked around with mine some, and I am going to put an IDS2 muffler and pipe on my blue bike and see how it like that... i have a feeling i am not going to care for it, if its loud.
i don't like loud, i like good..
I am on a quest to make a really good trail/fun to ride/CHEAP-and-reliable/hunting atv .. i am sure i could just go buy a new 400-500 and have all that, except the cheap part...
those tires on it will be great for a lakota .. looks like they will self clean quick.
Even CURERENtly stock (mostly) with 25" tires, my blue bike delivers enough torque to sink the rears in sand/mud/gravel/ruts ... in other words, the bike makes plenty of power in the stock format. its 100-200lbs heavier than "Race" quads (blasters and banshees) but will go through bad trails and has REVERSE and electric start... if the lakota had been kick start and no battery, it would be 100-140lbs lighter, and I would have over looked it for me.
think of it as a dodge truck -- looks great, hauls more than it should, plenty of power, good brakes, and handles well better than its class...its just not going to beat a vette.</end quote></div>
yea i traded the dirt bike because it sucks riding on the trails i'd rather ride a atv anyday on trials.... i wanna use the atv to hunt and trail ride with friends and have alittle bit of go power when i need it to race or to get up the big muddy hills... ill proble take it out this week and test it out i hope it performace really well...
