4 Wheel Drive Light Blinking on 2005 Kaw 360
#1
While riding in 2 wheel drive my 4WD light starting bliking. When i tried to put it in 4WD it would not go. Turned key off and restarted the 4 wheeler and the light was off and it would go in and out of 4WD just like it is supposed to. A few minutes later the light was blinking again and again it would not go into 4WD. I had to stop and restart the 4wheeler again to reset the light. Is there anything beside the 2WD/4WD switch and actuator that could be the problem? How do i troubleshoot this problem?

In order to work on your quad properly, you need a service manual. There are 3 modes of 2/4WD light flashing frequencies and you need to figure out which mode it is.

It is blinking at a rate of every 1/2 second which i think tells me that it is in the 4WD circuitry but i do need to get a manual. thanks</end quote></div>
You are right that 1/2 second cycle frequency refers to failed 2/4WD actuator by the front gear box. If it is not the actuator, it can be:
> Small metal block at the end of the actuator pin worn our or broken.
> Front gear case failure
> 2/4WD Controller (black box)
This is assuming that your EBC actuator is working fine. A bad EBC would also flash 4WD light (at diff freq) and prevent 4WD engagement.
Yes, SM helps if you would fix it yourself.
