Default Honda 250r rear shock

Hi , I am going to do the Honda 250r shock modification that you recommended but is it the 250r the atc 250r three wheeler or the trx 250r quad because they have both available on eBay and i can chance buying the wrong one . Thank-you.

wow, old thread. Generally when someone mentions 250R, they mean the quad. The '85 and '86 trike is pretty similar to the quad. The shocks have a different part number, but look to be about the same. While it is more expensive to go aftermarket, I prefer to use a shock that has the proper eye to eye length and travel numbers. Aftermarket generally will perform better than any OEM from the 80's. Works stuff is usually pretty decent vs price and they generally have product for older machines. The good news is something like a 250R or 660 raptor shock(which may also work for you) is rebuildable and can be somewhat reconfigured if need be by a good shock place.
