Dead Battery/Holds no Charge
#1
Hey, I've recently been having to work more than usual and the old brute hasnt been ridden very much. It has sat in the shed for a while as its gotten colder. I would go out, start it let it run for a little bit just so it wouldnt set up, but i noticed after a few times (weeks) the battery was getting weaker and would not hold its charge after the engine had been running for a bit. I was not aware these were sealed batteries until i took the bracket, cables and winch cables all off and saw that it was a damn sealed unit, heck the old ones didnt use to be. My question is, about how long have the batteries lasted on yall's machines or an average expectancy? its an '06 purchased in july 06. I had a toggle switch installed for the fan since it had quit coming on by itself and it had crossed my mind, wondering if some of the wiring the guy did was draingin the battery in any way. I just turn the fan on when i want it on by flipping the little switch under the handlebars. Any suggestions would be great and thanks in advance, as i understand it may just be the batterys end of days lol, but i sure hope not at the prices on those dudes. thanks
