2003 p360 clutch problems
#1
My 360 bit the dust this weekend. The primary has been "sticking" for quite some time. I would have to give it almost half throttle before the bike would jerk in to motion. This didn't happen until I took it to the dealership for the front end recall replacement and had them go through the whole bike while they had it. The guy screwed up everything! My 4wd and check belt lights flash constantly and the front end pops when engaging 4wd (not the CV joints).
Anyway, yesterday I was riding around the yard and heard a loud pop. Almost immediately the bike went dead when I hit the brakes. I tried to crank it but heard some loose parts in the belt housing. I said screw it and hit the starter. After about thirty seconds of popping and not wanting to start it finally did. The engine runs fine so that was a relief. I took it in my shop and tore into the housing. The first thing I did was sweep the inside with a magnet. Picked up a few pieces of what looked like a bushing from the spider where the weights contact and some of the primary components.
I need to know if anyone offers aftermarket primary and secondary convertors. Not just the spring kits, but the entire assemblies. I found the OEM replacments which list for around $900 for both. I don't mind spending the money, but for $900 I was hoping there may be a better clutch kit out there. If not, I will have to replace them OEM.
Also, The secondary is not hurt, but is stock. Should I replace it just because I am replacing the primary?
And, if anybody can give me some advice as to what springs, etc. I should buy. I am having to replace everything so I might as well do it right. There are so many options out there that one gets confused easily. I do normal riding around my property, use it for deer hunting, some occasional playing but not hard, etc. I also have 26" mud lites.
Thanks,

Okay, I just did a little surfing and found one from Comet. All I have is a part number so I don't know what series it is. The guy told me I would lose the KEBC but would otherwise be happy with the performance. And, it was only $389 AND I don't have to change my secondary.
Any opinions on this? anybody...

Never mind...amazing what the little search box to the right can do for you! I just spent the last hour reading stuff on the Comet. I will order mine tomorrow.
The only two questions I have left are:
1. I am reusing my stock secondary. Should I change the secondary spring while I am in there? The guy at Comet told me no, but I would rather do it now if it needs it. If so, what brand and which color to be compatible with the Comet?
2. He said the KEBC won't work. Does this mean I have to remove it or leave it in the housing? Will it matter either way?
