this winter I noticed my 05 Brute 650 was getting hard to start. I took it to the dealer, they cleaned the carb, cleaned the air box, new air filter, changed the oil & filter, new battery and sent me home. Much to my suprise, the machine is still hard to start. To get it to start, I have to hold the starter on, turn on the choke, let it crank and crank, and mess with the throttle position. When i get exactly the right combination of lots of cranks, choke position, and throttle position it will start. Any ideas???? I never had to touch the throttle in the past, and am wondering why I have to now? Has anyone had a similar problem, and if so, do you have the solution?

 

adjust the valves

 

change the plug, then take it back to the dealer, and tell them to FIX IT or give you your money back... if they say "well, we did all this work" find words to NICELY say "and you didn't fix the problem, so it was your time fiddlign about, as you took my money and didn't fix what you were asked to fix" ... second time "yes, and it appears you don't know how to FIX my bike, so you did some other stuff"
