bayou 300 carb probs?????
I have a 1996 300 bayou 4x4 and here lately when you run it it acts like the carb is loading up on it and floods out. The 1st few times it happened I was able to get it started but now it won't crank for anything. I have checked the plug and it was firing just fine but i put a new one in just in case. It has the original carb on it. I don't know if the float is sticking or the carb needs to be replaced all together. Any help would be appreciated.

bayou 300 carb probs?????
I have 1 in the shop right now doing the same thing! I have yet had to replace a carb on a machine but I'm about to do that!! I'm not trying to brag but i have alot of experience on alot of different machines. I do this for a living!! Glad to hear somebody else is going thru this!! Sorry I can't help you, but you just made me feel better!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The bad thing is these carbs are not cheap. The only good thing going for me is my customer will pay for it. I'll let u know the best price i find.

fuel line, 30cents a foot
inline fuel filter, 4.99
carb rebuild kit, 25 bucks
can of carb cleaner 20 bucks
2 hours to do it the first time, priceless
you've got crap in your tank and carb, and you should be able to give a local wrench a fifty to teach you how to do it.
wrenchnalldatime - you raise an interesting question in your signature, but its far from a complete picture- if YOU work on a bike for 2 hours, and the book says 6, the customer is charged for 6 hours
they pay 30% of your base salary to the feds for taxes, the same as you
they pay ALL the light and untility bills
the business is NEVER "sick", it has to be there every business hour, always
they pay the INSURANCE for the work you do
they pay the workers comp for YOU
they pay you for 8 hours a day, doesn't matter if you work 3 or 7
all in all, for every hour an employee works, IF YOU CAN GET 3x of their basic rate, you make about 1/2 of their base rate as return..
lets make certain the math is clear
if you made $15 an hour, and the dealer charged $45 an hour, he's lucky to make $7 an hour from your ACTUAL labor (assuming the dealer is honest on time)
Would you work for HIM for $7 an hour?
no, you would not
but he works for YOU for $7 an hour
