I have a 4WD light that blinks every 2 seconds on/off every now and then but it clears for a little while when you stop and restart the ATV. Even with the light blinking or not the only thing i can find that is not working is that it will NOT go into 4WD in reverse. It will come out of 4WD in reverse but it will not engage into 4WD in reverse. It always worked in reverse until the light blinked the first time. It is a 2005 praire 360 and i have a friend that has one that is identical and his will go into 4WD in reverse. ANY IDEAS ????

 

Which sequence are you doing?
> Shift to reverse first, then push 4WD.
> Press 4WD button first, then shift to reverse.

 

tried both ways still will not go. bought a manual and the only thing that it seems it could be with everything else working is the forward/reverse detector but it ohms out fine according to the manual

 

If both ways still fail to work for you, then your igniter might have gone bad. The igniter sends a signal to the Controller which sends another signal to the 4WD actuator. The ohm test is almost useless for this kind of problem. It will be nice if you can borrow a working igniter to test from someone before you spend $$.
