It has a fuel pump. The gas tank mounts on the side of the atv. The fuel line is below the intakeand the line runs to a pump and then another line goes from the pump to the intake. Which has a little incline to the engine. I have even checked with a dealer / mechanic and he said those models are rare.

how will I know if the fuel pump is working properly. right it pulses and I can see the fuel. After it pulses I see an air bubble go up a little bit and then it backs down again.

Do I need to prime it? How do I do that?

 

My honda has the same kind of fuel pump, my son has a 1988 185 just like what you have. And they both do that pulse. I have never had to prime either one.

 

Have you gone too the kawie web site and looked up your machine on the parts break down?It wont tell you how to fix it but it will tell you what the parts are and where they are at on your machine and thats allways a good start .hope this helps and good luck
