Default valves 650 bf

I have a 05 650 bf with 5500kms and over 500hrs and have not yet had the valves adjusted. Am I damaging the engine by continuing to drive it?

Default valves 650 bf

Hello Vincent....my father always taught me "if it aint broke dont fix it" but I guess there is a far amount of schedule maintenance we should adhere to in order to avoid problems down the road....I am new to the forum and to the atv world itself....although I have been a tinkerer for years....I just bought an 06 650 brute sra with only 190 ....miles for $ 3400....have not been able to ride it much...just came back from a cold 13 degree ride and I am thinking I need to order hand/thumb warmers....any tips out there on good deals would be appreciated...anyways...Vincent I have read on here that if the machine is running rich or lean ya need to adjust the valves...it seems that mostly they are too tight from what I have been reading....so if ya are running good now why muck with it....??? well good luck and keep in touch.....
