mojave reverse problem

Default mojave reverse problem

hey guys i have a mojave i have been rebuilding for a couple of months now. and my problem is it goes into reverse without turning the **** i took it about and checked it out and i dont see any problems with the mechanism. i think these may be something thats gonna require me to take the trans apart [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif[/img] any help or ideas would be great thanks

remove the cable from the shifter, at the trans.. you've got it kinked and its pulling it

no its not that all the mechanisms uder that reverse plate and switch are working right it just looks like to me theres too much play in the rod that comes for the trans. even when that arm is in the right position it still allows it to go into reverse

unhook it from the trans..

"too much play" like having too much money, is a nonsequitor

Default mojave reverse problem

how does unhooking anything help me with my problem. i need my reverse and i need to know if its something inside the trans and what. i have the manual and by looking at everything on there its working correct. visually everything under the plate is working as it should

it troubleshoots the problem for being OUTSIDE or INSIDE
outside means just an adjustment, inside means a PITA

outside means there's something doing something wrong, its probably non-obvious, but trying to locate the problem is USUALLY 1/2 of the time, or more, in repairing it.

oh your not bothering me i appreciate the help alot really. the problem is inside the trans i do know that but im just not sure what inside there makes it do that. what part needs to be replaced and about how much is it.
