I have a '00 Lakota and wanting to put new handle bars on it. I am want a set that has a cross bar/w pad. I am considering Renthals but I'm not sure what to get since my quad is not listed. I have noticed on the Renthals that the cross bar is very close to the bottom bar. I have my neutral and reverse lights in the center of my bottom bar so I think I'll need more clearance. Does any one have any suggestions on the type of bars I should look at. Thanks for any input!

I put Renthals (4-Trax bend) on my Mojave. They are wider and slightly taller, so I had to re-route some of the cables to replace the slack that was lost. I like them a lot. The extra width made a big difference! No clearence problems at all.

Put a ruler or somthing across your handlebars at the lowest place that will clear everything that is between them and mark each side of the bars with tape at that point. take your bars off and go to a cycle supply store that stocks several bends of renthal and maybe some other bars. Find a bend that comes close to yours that has the cross bar at least as high as your tape marks. Most of the honda and Kawi "High" bends for dirt bikes should work.

Thanks for the replys. Good idea ..Addict, think that's what I'll do. I am almost sure that the Mojave and Lakota are the same there.

Honda,
I highly recommend the pipe and jet kit. Night and day diff. on the Lakota(IMHO). You will be surprised. Just takes a little playing with the jetting, but after is tuned in it'll run.

What about the clamp area,it's different on motorcycles (the clamp area is spaced farther appart)will this work? I'm not sure because the standard Renthals dont have the grooves on the bar at all?

they will work, Only the diameter of the bars is important. Not the spacing of the clamps. Renthals do not have a knurled section but can be clamped anywhere on the center section. other aftermarket bars that are knurled usually have a wide knurled section to cover a variety of clamp spacings. All standard bars are the same diameter, I think it is 7/8", for bikes and quads.
