If the 650 turns out to be as good as we hope, I sure am glad that I am on the list. Kaw motors is much smaller than the big three. Their a-lines may not be able to keep up with the demand. It could be years not months for all hunger to be satisfied by the big bovine.......

My kawaski dealer claims to be the #1 in sales for the country so I doubt he'll have a shortage.
I plan on waiting for the new hype to die down And pick one up once they start coming off msrp.
I bought a 97 prarie for ~5650, my 99 cost a little less and they are selling them now for $5300.(400 4x4)- the whole while the msrp has been $6099.00
I'll wait till the prices drop.

Our dealer is only getting two for now. It might be June before he gets anymore. Dealer is smaller, but there are not many Kaw dealers around this area. Things could be tight for quite a while. You pay more to be first, but it will be fun having the only machines in the area for six months to a year. Maybe we can charge $10.0 a ride to make back suggested retail......

In my opinion these Prairie 650's will have a longer waiting list than the Raptor. Our local dealer isn't accepting deposits, to me this isn't a good sign. Hope the Prairie comes out in March!

Kawasaki should slow down on the Bayous a bit, triple shift the production of the 650 and lay the wip to there backs to pump them out day and night. Will these 650 be comming by slow boat from Japan or do they build them in the States?

I may be one of the lucky ones.
Although im not looking for a quad right at the moment, if I wanted the new 650, I probably could get one fast because my uncle is the kawasaki dealer for my area!!!

renthal15, Can you ask your uncle what he knows about the release date for the 650? If they are supposed to be out in March like some people have been told, I'm surprised that they haven't updated their information on their website yet. Please let us know what you can.

I just got off the phone with a dealer here in Colorado Springs. They know the list price (MSRP) will be $6999 and are told delivery will now be in April. They should know more after the first week of March.

I sure wish a Kawi Rep would reply to this forum, or at least update their web page.

Jscyoung,

Our dealer is either an idiot or Kawasaki is being tight lipped about the release date. As off yesterday my dealer told me that they didn't have any literature on the Prairie. This is not a good sign for a March release date. April is probably more realistic. They will probably do like Yamaha & produce enough so every Kawasaki dealer will receive a couple for the intial run.

It would be nice if someone from Kawasaki did indeed give us some insight as to what is going on.
