Default 87 mojave problems

well first problem is the kick starter the gear in the center (idler gear maybe) keeps kicking the cirp clip any ideas?and second having a horrible time getting it started when the kick start is working and seems a little hard to kick, only way i can get it started is getting a really good run down a long hill and catching it in second gear. the kid i bought it off of put a full dg system on it and im not sure if he jetted it how can i tell and would that be a problem with getting it to start?

well im not understanding what you saying about the problem with the gears but the reason its hard to kick is something must be wrong with your compression release. take your valve cover off and on the end off one the cams is the compression release.
