The other day after I got back from a ride, I notice a puddle under my 98 mojave. It was leaking gas out of the overflow tube on the bottom of the carb. I tried to adjust the screw on the bottom, but it just kept leaking until the gas was gone. I looked for a place where the tube hooked up, but found none. That's why I assume it is the overflow.
Any ideas or recommendations would be very much appreciated.
Stranded at the house,

Thanks,

Mike

It seems like someone else had this problem and it turned out the float in the carb was stuck.

Could be stuck float; more than likely, dirt/trash in the float valve/float valve seat contact area.

Maybe fixed with carb cleaner (probably not). Maybe fixed by dropping the float bowl and squirting (wear eye protection) cleaner around the float valve and seat. If not fixed that way; remove, disassemble, clean carburetor; reassemble and adjust. Good luck.

Mine started leaking about 3 weeks after i bought it, turned out to be be plastic from the tank itself got into the float and made it stick. After you get it cleaned out install an in-line fuel filter to prevent it from happening again. You can even use a small automotive type from wal mart, they're only a few bucks and it beats cleaning the carb.

your float is stuck. it happened to mine when it was 2 weeks old. i fixed mine myself ,but be careful, there's alot of little parts in the bottom of the carb. that little screw with the allen head is a drain. you could try turning the gas off and opening up that drain and see if any dirt comes out with the gas that comes out of the tube. (in your manual it tells you how to do this) or you could try tapping on the side of the bowl to free the stuck plastic float...
good luck
