Hello,

I have a 06 BF 650 that is having some belt issues. At low RPMs when the belt engages it whines or grinds until about 10-15mph. I plan on taking the belt cover off but thought I would ask as I do not know what to look for.

Any help would be great!

Belt is probably too tight.

 

how do I loosen it up?

 

It is shimmed. You have to remove the belt cover and add/remove shims to adjust.

Do you have a copy of the manual?

No copy but was waiting for the rain to clear up here and take a look behind the cover...odd it would just start grinding. We ride hard but no deep water riding or any mud to get in there.
