I have a 06' 750 BF, that runs GREAT,except if I go through water say 18" deep the bike starts sputtering really bad and runs like crap for a few minutes. Just wondering if anyone else had that problem and what can I do to stop it.

 

Snorkel.

 

I dont think I need a snorkel since the water is not going in the air-box. Im thinking that maybe the water is getting in the electrical wiring somewhere down by my floorboards but just not sure.

 

Water in the belt cover?

Mine stalls too at high speeds and then hitting water. Was told that the hot exhaust + water causes the stall, but mine does not sputter.....just starts back up and goes.

 

get a snorkel lol, the water probably causes the sputtering

 

have you looked at the wiring harness, there are 2 connectors that when they get wet, all kinds of issues, one is near the steering column and the other is under the seat, taped against the rest of the harness. in the 06 these are an issue. oh.. Snorkel helps as well.

 

sounds like your plug wires mite be cracked or a cracked plug to me let me know what the prob was.
