Brut Force Problem

Hi all, my friend has an 06 750 Brut Force that has a particular problem, and any info you can give me would be much appreciated.
Recently the 2 wheel/4 wheel drive indicator lite started flashing on and off. It just flashes back and forth from 2 wheel to 4 wheel drive. And when it is doing this the engine idle rpm is up considerably, enough so that you cannot shift the maching out of drive, or into drive from neutral because it is idling so fast the gears grind. Usually this situation occurs after about an hour or so of riding.
The dealer has looked at the bike and said that the problem relates to the engine breaking mechanism and the fix is somewhere between $400 and $900.

Yes, the Kebc is most likely your problem.
Time the flashes and that will tell you the acutal fault (flashes between 4wd to 4wd)
1 second - Selectable 2WD/4WD actuator
2 second - Engine brake actuator
4 second - Both the selectable 2WD/4WD
actuator and the engine brake
actuator
If the acutator is the problem, you can replace or disconnect/remove

that happened to mine too. it is the kebc actuator. i just took out the kebc fork that engages the engine braking at low speeds. it is only a temporary fix but it eliminates that 'high idle' feeling. you can also pull the main fuse which will temporarily get rid of the problem.

i've had a similar problem but found the issue to be a wiring harness problem, in the 06 model there are 2 no. 4 lead connectors; one in the front near the steering column and one under the seat. if these get water inside they will cause all kinds of electrical / switching problems. these connectors are taped quite well against the harness feeds, freeing them, cleaning and adding some dielectric grease to prevent water from getting in contact solved a lot of my bike issues.
not to say you don't have a more physical issue, but you might want to look here as well. i believe in the 07 models this electrical problem was resolved.

it si the engine brake you can remove this and you can make the light work the way it is supose 2 by buying a $15 chev head light relay you can see how to wire this in on the internet this works fine i done it to mine and removed every thing from the belt case and it gives you more power
