Default Removing Kawasaki Prairie 400 fuel tank

This is probably a simple question, but I haven't figured it out. I need to remove the fuel tank to get to the carb but the fuel selector know is in the way. I'm guessing you have to slide the tank backward to clear the fairing and the tank would come off on the right side. I don't see a simple way to do this.

Thanks for any help

Remove fuel **** using phillips screwdriver. There is a screw recessed deep in the center hole. Once screw is loose, pull **** off.

Remove tank cap, then the tank cover comes off by removing two scews up top and the two bolts in lower rear.

Now, replace tank cap and lift back of tank up, then pull tank back a little then up and out it comes.

Just be careful of the wiring that runs along the frame rail next to the petcock. Sometimes the petcock gets caught on it.
