Hey guys, I soon will be purchasing new tires and wheels for my 2004 KFX 400. I know I'm definitely going to get either Maxxis RAZR 2's or Holeshot HD's, on T-9 Pro Series wheels. But heres the problem, I'm not sure what size i should order. People are telling me to run a 22 but I'm not sure if thats too big. So lemme know what you guys think.
Thanks

You don't want to put 22" on the rear, it will screw up your handling big time. It will change your gearing for one thing, and it will change your handling for the worse. The only benefit for 22" rear tires is ground clearance and that benefit is not worth it when you take away from the handling.

Stock size works well in most conditions, and that is what i would stick with unless you are either A) using it as an mx only machine or B) riding a lot of knarly, muddy, rutted out trails. Even sticking with stock sizes, your new tires may be a little bigger or smaller than oem, but not by a whole lot usually.

20x11x9 is just as good or better.... the "11" is the width of the tire so an 11 is just wider than a 10. It depends on the tire maker as some like Maxxis are generally 11" and some ITPs are 10" wide..... Most people prefer the 11 since a wider foot print means more traction and stability.
