Default Enrichment plunger stuck in carb body

Hey all, just picked up a 2002 Bayou 220 this past weekend for $600.00. The machine is in pretty decent shape, has brand new battery and tires but it sat for a few years. I removed the carb and found the enrichment plunger is frozen in the carb. Right now I've got it soaking in penetrating oil. Wondering if anyone else has had this problem and looking for advice on removing it. It would start but couldn't keep it running without the choke. Pilot jet was also gummed up a bit and fuel in tank was pretty stale. I think it will make a nice little machine with a little love.

If possible, see if you can soak the frozen parts in diesel fuel for overnight and try to free them next day.

I have invested in a sonic cleaner (like they clean jewelery in) for cleaning carbs. I got mine from Harbor Freight for around $80.00. It has a heater so you can soak in hot solution or cold. I use a 50/50 mix of water and Simple Green. The vibrations will loosen up the corrosion and I think will allow you to salvage your carb. Hope this helps, TORK.
