Brute Force 750 4x4i is the wheeler I'm in love with at the moment. Sold off my big bore sportsman after test riding one, had to have it.

I smil every time I ride this thing.

ehh- you swapped one big bore for another. The brute 750 twin definitely has more bottom end then my 800 sportsman- I wonder if that's because you can over-rev the brutes carbs whereas the sportsman is all controlled by computer. If I had the right offer, I might consider swapping back to a brute 750 from my sportsman (though I am liking my sportsman more & more everyday) My biggest complaint with the polaris is the drive train chatter & noise- I hate it! makes me feel like I'm always about to break something. Do the engineers try these things out before marketing them? Are they deaf?

You are saying carbed motor can be over-revved because there is no computer?

There is a thing called "igniter" that controls the max rpm of carbed motors by cutting out the ignition. It's all programmed in there as a part of mapping, also called rev-limiter.

YEP- YOU READ IT CORRECTLY- THAT'S WHAT I'M SAYING.

Different timing advance-

I was an automotive / diesel tech for 10 years and a pro-street drag racer from 2001-2004 and have built over a dozen hotrods and classic muscle cars.
Fuel injected systems are governed by a completely different means of timing and synchronization.

2 identical motors, one with FI and the other with a carb- The carbed engine is exposed to over-revving & over heating more so then the FI under the same conditions (simply stated.)

I've been an quad tech for 20+ years, specializing on Kawasakis quads and I AM TELLING YOU THAT ALL KAWI QUADS, whether carbed or fuel injected, they all have rev-limiter programmed either in IGNITER for carbed models and ECU for fuel injected models. You CAN'T over-rev those Kawi quads with stock igniter or ECU.
