Go with the stock OEM, my kid has a toy car made by Little Tykes that has shinier plastic than maier. Take care, Bryan

Get stock. I have Maier on my '87 and i hate it. It doesn't fit very well, looks bad, and you have to drill all of the holes. Stock is not much more and you have 3 colors you can choose and looks MUCH MUCH better.

Maier fenders can be made to fit and look just fine. It does take some work and there are some tricks to making them work. They are not shiny but they are tough, much tougher than stock. They also only come in race cut for the Mojave and do not have the tool compartment behind the seat. If you want shiny and easy, then go with the stock. If you want to race cut- the new stock fenders are hard to do and get looking good because of the big square raised section molded in for the Warning label. I have two mojaves, one has stock fenders that are race cut(before the warning label raised section) and the other has green maiers. I really like both and the dull finish on the maiers is not that bad and does not show scratches as bad. Getting the maiers to fit like stock is a lot of work and not for everyone though.

The only Maier product I would put on a Mojave is a new hood. I personally have put a 'smoothy' Maier hood on my 2000 Mojave. I cut the stock fenders and I'm here to tell ya that the stock ones are the way to go. You can't beat the look. Check out my web page to see. There are 2 areas to keep an eye on for cracks....just above the foot peg where the fenders turn out...on both sides. LET THE GOOD TIMES ROLL!!!!
