Sputtering Prairie!!!!
#1
I have a 1999 Kawasaki Prairie 300 and a couple weeks ago we were riding and the throttle cable broke so we ordered a new one and had one of our friends put it on for us. After he finished we started it and let it run for a while to get warmed up and when we went to ride it would get up to about 1/4 of the speed and then start sputtering and backfiring really bad like it was getting either too much or too little gas. If anyone has any suggestions or think they know what the problem is either post a reply or Email me at LIGS350@aol.com.

No way you could have gotten water in the carb., huh? Mine did that so I drained the bowl and it cleared up.
Did you take the tank off? Did you leave it connected and set it to the side? If so. when replacing the tank back into its position you may have twisted the gas lines. I had this happen when I put a new valve in my Prairie 300 4x4.
My sparkplug boot also happens to jump off of my plug for some reason. This results in some broken up firing but will still idle.

Sputtering Prairie!!!!
Hi, I have a 2001 prairie 300-- I have replaced the spark plug, new fuses back by the battery, it is getting gas thru the gas filter , i drained the gas and put new gas in the tank because it has been sitting up a while and it cranked for a few minutes like sputtering while running and it cut off and now will just turn over but wont crank. Do you have any ideas of what might be wrong?>??
