WHY IS A MOJAVE SLOWER THAN A 300EX
#1
does anyone know why a mojave is slower than a 300ex, its got a bigger carb, DOHC, liquid cooling, AND THE SAME WEGHT, also it has almost as much displacment as the 282cc 300EX, dont u think it should at least be jsut as fast as a 300ex

they have the same dry weight: no fuel,no liquid in radiator, and no oil. In a shootout in Dirtwheels mag they said there was a 44 pound difference in weight. the kawi was the heavier. i still don't think there should be that big of a difference. anyways, the honda might have higher gearing and a little more power(there is only a 33cc difference in engine size, not 50cc.)c i don't think the honda has more top end so i would still have to say it is gearing. hope this helps. oh yeah, try getting a bigger front sprocket

Dirt Wheels did a shoutout between the Mojave and 300ex. I know, I know, just take it for what it is I guess. They said the they ran pretty equal in the drag race. They also mentioned the Mojave turns on a dime with no push, while the 300ex does have a very noticable push in the corners, and the Mojave takes larger jumps better. They stated the reverse is much easier to use too. The suspension is a little stiffer they noted but would have better high speed handling. Of course the 300ex won the shoot out though. I mean you didn't think I Kawi. can beat a Honda in a mag. Honda owns did you? Oh did I say that, my bad. I mean it's horribly obvious why the 250ex wins over a Lakota.
ROFLMFAO!
OHH.
Anyway, go to the Dirt Wheels website and look under "Tests" and check out the "White Brothers Mojave" article. You may find this interesting. They said for you Mojave fans that were disappnt'd in the shootout, we took the savings you get and put on some goodies and still have money left over. $500 bucks with $300 left over can have a much better quad if Dirt Wheels said it would be "a better overall performer". Oh there I go again.

It doesn't matter about sprocket sizes because the transmissions are different. Yes, it's fun to upgrade stuff on a bike like shocks and motor stuff, but why does everyone have to be in competition all the time. Just ride your quad and have fun thats what its all about!
P.S. though your Mojave may not be the fastest in the short run in the race of time you'll end up passing up all these people with carbs that blow off their engine everytime they start it! Ride on,Peace out
