Looking for info on ex 500 in mojave frame,I have already bought the ex, and found the mojave chassis. I seen the artical in a mag but was not interested at the time, Now i have sombody knocking my tecate. (get a 4 stroker blah blah yada yada)well now its time to play e mail some info or tell me what month this issue was in.Any info from someone who has completed this project would be apperciated

 

With the help of a local engineer/fabricator I will be putting my 1998 EX 500 engine (with 1400 miles on it)in a Mojave chassis I bought for this project, I will let you know if we run into any problems. Installation should be in a week or two. I do know that the bottom frame rails have to be sread apart about 3/4 of an in. on each side where it tapers at the front. Take care, Bryan

 

Whats an EX500?

 

They are now called the Ninja 500.

 

Kawasaki has produced the EX 500 for several years 86 at least and are still making it under the NINJA 500 name it was first produced without the ninja logo for insurance purposes for the public and kawasaki was not shure the hardcore street guys would consider the 500 twin a true sportbike. Kind of like how every body knocks a mojave. Then every body started calling it a ninja so Kawi added some more fairings and thru on some Ninja decals.
